1APP mandatory date has changed to 6th April 2008
The new national standard planning application form will be introduced in England from 6 April 2008 to standardise and simplify the planning application process. This date has been delayed due to legislation now changing in April 2008, not 1 October 2007 as previously indicated.

The 1APP forms will be the only way of submitting a planning application from
6 April 2008, and will replace Winchester City Council's current planning application forms. The new forms will be available to complete via an online form from the Planning Portal website, or by contacting Planning Reception.

Winchester City Council anticipates adopting 1APP by the end of 2007. In the meantime, please continue to use our current planning application forms.

Consultation Phase - National and Local Requirements for 1APP
The Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) have released the documentation to enable Local Planning Authorities to compile their local list of requirements for valid planning applications. The guidance is still in draft form, and is available to view by following the link below:

Winchester City Council is now in a position to publish its proposed local list of requirements, and would like to invite all interested parties to comment. The consultation will run on the Council website until 18 October 2007.

Following the consultation period the responses will be reviewed before formal adoption by the City Council. Should any major changes occur, when CLG publish the final version of the Best Practice Guide for Validation of Planning Applications in November, the Council may then need to reconsult.
