There was a ‘round-table’ discussion, resulting in a lively debate, with a number of interesting points raised. The minutes of the meeting can be found on the website. If you would like to book a place at future Agents Forums, please contact: Philippa Eldridge E-Planning Development Leader peldridge@winchester.gov.uk Tel: 01962 848 124 Planning Fees The Government has announced the final details of the increase in planning fees. The new fee structure has been set out on our Planning Fees April 2008 webpage. As part of this structure a new fee has been introduced that relates to compliance with conditions. Unfortunately the government guidance issued - relating to how this fee should be charged - is not clear so we are currently seeking further guidance before it is introduced at Winchester City Council. We will keep you informed about when this fee will be introduced. Open Space, Sports and Recreation Study Winchester City Council and East Hampshire District Council jointly commissioned a study of open space, sport and recreation facilities. The study is now available for viewing. The study was adopted by the Local Development Framework Committee on 2nd April 2008. More details can be found on the Open Space webpages. Planning Portal Applications The number of electronic applications sent to this authority continues to rise. This year we have already received 215 applications electronically, compared to the 298 applications received in the whole of 2007. About 20% of applications made to us have been received online, indicating a dramatic increase on this time last year, when we had received about 6.5% of our applications online. The introduction of the new 1APP forms plays a key part in this rise, which has helped to raise awareness of the facilities provided by the Planning Portal. If you would like to submit an electronic application, further guidance is provided on the Planning Portal application pages. |
